Not only is this an urban battle (which will reduce the effectiveness of vehicles anyways), but the Ultramarines have succeeded many times against armies which solely consist of anti-gravity vehicles, most notably Eldar and Tau. While the Empire may have anti-gravity/repulsor vehicles, I don't see this as a huge disadvantage to the Ultramarines. I'm editing this into a summation rather than a point-by-point breakdown simply because it is easier for me and anyone else reading this. With a regular Legion of 10,000 it'd be more of a fight, but I'd still probably give it to the Space Marines. But I don't see the 501st having nearly enough firepower to take down the Ultramarines chapter, especially when Connor said that it would take concentrated heavy blaster firepower (The squad level blaster, not the E-Web) to take down a Marine. well, you might need Tigurius to hold him off. With there being around 1,000 Ultramarines in the chapter, this is an absolute rout without Vader. If the Wookipedia entry is correct, then the 501st is around 1,300 old-school Clone Troopers. Contrast this with the ability for Space Marines to keep their heavy weapons with them and fire them on the move, and I don't think E-Webs are going to be a game-changer. Reading the topic, it seems that an E-Web has the power to take down Space Marines, though the problem here is that it is a ridiculously inflexible weapon which is only really meant for defensive positions only. Star Wars has some pretty fucked up stuff when it comes to real anti-tank stuff. 50 has far more anti-tank capacity than most people realize, but it is hardly what I'd call an "Anti-Armor" weapon, let alone a Heavy Anti-Armor weapon. Not to say it doesn't have power nor that it couldn't fuck up a Space Marine, but it's a heavy machine gun. It's not meant to be an AA weapon except to maybe dissuade aircraft from strafing due to volume of fire.Ģ) While it might have some anti-armor capacity (And caliber isn't end-all be-all even with conventional munitions), it's not an anti-armor weapon. 50 on a tripod and firing at aircraft overhead, though with less effect. They have AA capacity, but even in the thread it's mentioned that they were looking for a lucky shot to damage the Falcon. Now I'm fucking pissed.ġ) E-Webs are definitely not AA weapons.
